What I’m Loving August 2023

It’s that time of the month once more when I’ll delve into all the things I adored during August. This encompasses everything from music, television, and movies to beauty, cuisine, and beyond. Crafting this monthly blog post is an absolute delight for me! Join me as I unveil my top picks from the past month. You may notice some recurring favorites from previous months, but that’s a testament to their enduring appeal—it’s tough to outshine certain gems.

YouTube Channels and TV Shows

Project Fear

In the wake of the heartbreaking cancellation of their beloved show, “Destination Fear,” Dakota, Chelsea, Tanner, and Alex firmly reject the notion of ending their spine-tingling road journeys. Instead, they embark on a new chapter of their paranormal investigations, venturing into some of America’s and the world’s most notoriously haunted locations.

For all the paranormal enthusiasts out there, this show is an absolute must-watch. While I once adored “Destination Fear,” “Project Fear” takes the cake by allowing the team to truly be themselves. You can catch all the eerie action on YouTube.

Virgin River

In pursuit of a fresh beginning, a nurse practitioner decides to leave the bustling city life of Los Angeles behind and relocate to a secluded town in Northern California. Little does she know, the surprises awaiting her there go beyond the town’s natural beauty, extending to the intriguing individuals she encounters.

I revisited the final season of this series earlier this month in anticipation of the new season’s release on September 7th. It brings to mind the allure of English soap operas but with an undeniable improvement. Without a doubt, I’ll be indulging in a binge-watching session when the new season drops. You can catch this series on Netflix.

Stores

Target

I don’t think I need to explain why Target consistently secures a spot on my list of favorites; it’s a familiar inclusion. I enjoy strolling through Target, even if I only make occasional purchases. I make it a monthly ritual to bring Devon along, dragging them through the store, and perhaps indulging in some unnecessary shopping.

Places

Torch Lake

I celebrated my 30th birthday in August, and I chose to spend it at my all-time favorite destination, Torch Lake. Torch Lake is undeniably a hidden gem, serving as my serene sanctuary far removed from the chaos of city life. If you haven’t experienced its beauty yet, it’s an absolute must-visit!

Music

  • Fast Car – Luke Combs.
  • It’s Getting Hot – NLE Choppa.
  • Project Walls – Lil Tjay ft NBA Youngboy.
  • Defying Gravity – Wicked The Musical.
  • I Fall Apart – Post Malone.

  1. This is such a fun idea for a post! I hadn’t heard of either of these shows before but will have to look into them. I hadn’t heard of Torch Lake before but definitely adding it to my list. Thank you so much for sharing – and happy belated birthday!
